What a Chen Tai feeder system includes

A vibratory bowl feeder takes loose parts, orients them and delivers them one at a time to the next machine. Chen Tai has built vibratory bowl feeders in Taiwan since 1985 for the fastener industry and other small-parts production.

A complete feeder system can combine these parts:

  • Vibratory bowl feeder: orients the parts and sends them to the outlet.
  • Vibratory bin or hopper: stores parts and supplies the bowl automatically, which saves labor. A microcomputer controller adjusts the feeding speed.
  • Feeding sensor: orders more parts from the bin when it detects that the bowl is running low.
  • Linear feeder: connects the bowl exit to the track of the next machine to help avoid jams.
  • Stand or table: holds the bowl, bin and linear feeder as one unit.

Feeding screws and fasteners to your machines

Fastener plants use vibratory bowl feeders ahead of machines such as thread rollers, assembly machines and inspection equipment. The bowl sorts the parts into a single orientation so that the downstream machine receives them consistently.

Choose a bowl by the screw outside diameter and the maximum screw length you run. The LY series table lists the range for each model. Outlet height, outlet angle and voltage can be set to your request.

Vibratory bowl feeder questions

What does a vibratory bowl feeder do?

It vibrates loose parts along a spiral track inside a bowl, orients them and delivers them one at a time to the next machine, such as a thread roller or assembly machine.

How do I choose a bowl size?

Start with the outside diameter and the maximum length of your screw, then pick the smallest model whose range covers both. The LY series page lists the screw range for each model.

Can I add a hopper and a linear feeder?

Yes. A vibratory bin or hopper, a feeding sensor and a linear feeder can be combined with the bowl as one system. Tell us your machine and part and we will help you specify it.

Tell us about your parts

Send the part type, size range and the machine the feeder will supply, and we will help you select a bowl.
