CCT optical sorting machines and inspection systems

Cinco Industries supplies CCT equipment in North America, with parts and service support.

CCT optical sorting machines inspect parts in several configurations. The right one depends on how a part can be fed and held, what has to be checked, and your production rate. Send Cinco a part drawing or sample details and we will recommend a configuration. Return to sorting and inspection equipment.

Choose a configuration by part handling

Glass-plate systems

For parts that sit steadily on a glass surface, such as nuts and some flat-head screws. Part stability, the views you need and the features to inspect decide the setup.

Continuous plate systems

For parts that can hang from a plate during continuous movement. Checks include thread damage, bending and hole depth.

Intermittent plate systems

For parts that can hang from a plate in an intermittent inspection cycle. Checks include line cracks, bending and surface defects.

Eddy current inspection

For small cracks that are hard to see with a camera, including cracks at or just below the surface. An eddy current probe checks each part, and an indexing plate moves the parts to the probe one at a time. This is an indexed inspection, not continuous high-speed sorting, so it suits parts where finding hidden cracks matters more than speed. Eddy current testing works on electrically conductive parts, such as steel fasteners.

Material or hardness inspection

CCT also makes equipment for checking material and hardness. Send Cinco the material, part geometry and test requirement and we will match the right system.

Initial selection guidance

  • If a part sits stably on a flat surface, a glass-plate configuration is the place to start. Tell us the dimensions, orientation, surfaces to inspect and views needed.
  • If a part can hang from a plate, consider a continuous or intermittent configuration. Tell us how the part is retained, the cycle you need, the surfaces to inspect and what counts as a defect.
  • If the concern is small cracks a camera can miss, consider eddy current inspection. Tell us the material, where cracks form, the smallest crack you need to catch and the rate you need.
  • For material or hardness evaluation, tell us the test method, material range, sample preparation and acceptance criteria.
  • If the part does not fit these presentations, request an application review before choosing a machine.

What to send for an application review

  • Part drawing or representative sample details
  • Part material and dimensions
  • Defect or feature to inspect, with examples when available
  • Required inspection views and acceptance criteria
  • Current and target production rates
  • Existing feeding, handling or downstream equipment
  • North American installation location
